ClientX integrates with LinkedIn to send connection requests and DMs to identified website visitors, and to auto-reply to inbound LinkedIn messages in your voice. When a prospect browses your site and crosses your intent threshold, ClientX can automatically queue a personalised connection request and follow it up with a DM once they accept — without you having to do anything manually.

Two Ways to Connect LinkedIn

ClientX uses two separate LinkedIn connection methods, each serving a different purpose.
Best for: Lead Gen Form ingestion and AI-drafted outreach message previews.Connect via OAuth in Integrations > LinkedIn. This grants ClientX permission to:
  • Receive leads from LinkedIn Lead Gen Forms via the Lead Sync API
  • Draft and preview outreach messages before you send them
  • Post content to your LinkedIn profile (optional)
OAuth does not grant ClientX the ability to send DMs on your behalf — that requires the Chrome Extension session below.

Connect via the Chrome Extension

1

Go to Integrations > LinkedIn

In your ClientX dashboard, navigate to Integrations, then select LinkedIn.
2

Download the ClientX LinkedIn Extension

Click the extension download link shown in the dashboard. You will be taken to the Chrome Web Store to install it.
3

Install in Chrome

Click Add to Chrome and confirm the extension permissions. The ClientX icon will appear in your Chrome toolbar.
4

Authenticate and generate a one-time code

Make sure you are logged in to LinkedIn in the same browser. Click the ClientX extension icon and click Connect. The extension reads your active LinkedIn session and generates a one-time pairing code.
5

Enter the code in the dashboard

Paste the code into the Session Code field in Integrations > LinkedIn and click Link Session. Your LinkedIn seat is now active and outreach sequences can begin sending.

Outreach Sequences

Once your LinkedIn seat is connected, ClientX can run full multi-step sequences automatically.
ClientX automatically sends connection requests to identified visitors who are not yet connected with you on LinkedIn. You can customize the connection note per campaign — the AI drafts a personalised note based on the visitor’s profile and intent data.
After a connection is accepted, ClientX waits for your configured delay (default: 1 day) and sends the first follow-up DM. The AI drafts each message using your product knowledge base and the lead’s profile, pages visited, and conversation history from your website widget.
Each sequence supports up to four steps. A typical structure looks like this:
StepTimingPurpose
1Day 0Connection request with hook
2Day 1 after acceptanceValue-add DM
3Day 5Soft ask or case study
4Day 14Breakup or new angle
You configure the delay between steps when you create the campaign.

AI Auto-Reply

When someone DMs you on LinkedIn while you are away, ClientX can reply in your voice automatically — powered by your knowledge base and conversation history.

LinkedIn Seat Limits

ClientX enforces the following daily limits per connected LinkedIn seat to keep your account in good standing:
Daily DMs per seat
number
default:"50"
Maximum LinkedIn direct messages sent per seat per day. This applies to follow-up DMs after a connection is accepted. New seats start at a lower volume and ramp up automatically over the first three weeks to protect your account.
Daily connection requests per seat
number
default:"20"
Maximum outbound connection requests sent per seat per day. ClientX staggers these throughout your configured working hours and applies a warmup schedule for new seats.
Violating LinkedIn’s terms of service can result in account restrictions or permanent bans. ClientX enforces conservative daily caps to protect your account — do not attempt to bypass them by adjusting seat schedules below the minimum safe thresholds. If your account receives a warning from LinkedIn, pause all outreach immediately and contact support.

Multi-Seat Outreach

You can connect multiple LinkedIn accounts (one per team member) to scale outreach across seats. Each seat operates independently with its own daily limits, schedule, and timezone settings. To add a seat, repeat the Chrome Extension connection flow while logged in to a different LinkedIn account, then configure that seat’s schedule in Integrations > LinkedIn > Seats.
Assign each seat a label (e.g. “Alice — AE West Coast”) so you can track performance per rep in the Outreach dashboard’s metrics breakdown.
