ClientX sends outreach emails from your own email address — not a shared sending domain — so replies land directly in your inbox and deliverability stays high. Every email in a sequence comes from a real person at your company, which means leads can reply naturally and your domain reputation remains yours to protect.

Connect Your Email Account

ClientX supports three email connection methods:

Gmail

OAuth via Integrations > Gmail. Authorizes ClientX to send on your behalf using the Gmail API. Replies appear in your Gmail inbox as normal.

Outlook / Microsoft 365

OAuth via Integrations > Outlook. Works with personal Microsoft accounts and Microsoft 365 business accounts.

Custom SMTP

Any SMTP provider via Integrations > Email (SMTP). Enter your host, port, username, and password.

Connect Gmail

1

Go to Integrations > Gmail

In your ClientX dashboard, navigate to Integrations, then select Gmail.
2

Click Connect Google Account

You will be redirected to Google’s OAuth consent screen.
3

Authorize ClientX to send email on your behalf

Review the requested permissions and click Allow. ClientX only requests the gmail.send and gmail.readonly scopes — it can send email and read your inbox for reply detection, but cannot modify or delete messages.
4

Confirm your sending address

You are returned to the dashboard with your Gmail address shown as the active sending account. All outreach sequences now send from this address.

Connect Custom SMTP

1

Go to Integrations > Email (SMTP)

Select SMTP from the email provider list.
2

Enter your SMTP credentials

Fill in the following fields:
Host
string
required
Your SMTP server hostname, e.g. smtp.yourprovider.com.
Port
number
required
Typically 587 (STARTTLS) or 465 (SSL/TLS).
Username
string
required
Your SMTP login username — usually your email address.
Password
string
required
Your SMTP password or app-specific password. Stored encrypted at rest.
3

Send a test email

Click Send Test to confirm the connection. ClientX sends a test message to your address and shows a confirmation when it succeeds.

Email Sequences

Email sequences in ClientX are multi-step automated campaigns with configurable delays between each message.
Go to Outreach > Campaigns and click New Campaign. Select Email as the channel. You can start from scratch or describe your goal and let the AI Campaign Builder generate the steps for you.
Each step has a configurable delay_days value — the number of days to wait after the previous step before sending. Step 1 always sends on day 0 (immediately after enrollment). A typical sequence:
StepTimingAngle
1Day 0Intent hook — references the pages they visited
2Day 3–5Value proof — one concrete case study or stat
3Day 9–12Soft ask — low-commitment next step
4Day 18–22Breakup or completely new angle
Before each email sends, the AI fills in personalization using:
  • Lead enrichment data (company, title, industry, funding stage)
  • Pages the lead visited on your site
  • Their conversation history with your website chat widget
  • Previous emails already sent in the sequence
The result is a message that references something specific to the lead — not a mail-merge with a first name.
When a lead replies to any step in the sequence, ClientX immediately pauses all remaining steps. You will see the enrollment status change to Replied in the Outreach dashboard. The lead’s reply lands in your inbox as a normal email — you take it from there.

Nurture Sequences

Nurture sequences are long-term re-engagement campaigns for leads who visited your site, showed some interest, but did not convert during initial outreach. The ClientX nurture agent evaluates each lead on a configurable schedule and decides whether to re-engage — and with what angle — based on:
  • Days since the last touchpoint
  • Email engagement history (opens, clicks, replies)
  • Previous angles already tried (to avoid repetition)
  • The lead’s original conversation from your website widget
The nurture agent evaluates each lead’s engagement history and conversation context before deciding whether — and how — to re-engage. Leads with low ICP fit and no email engagement are automatically disqualified so your sending reputation stays clean.

Email Verification and Deliverability

ClientX verifies every lead’s email address before sending to protect your sender reputation.
CheckBehavior
Invalid / undeliverable addressFlagged in lead profile — sequence skipped
Disposable email domainBlocked — never enrolled in sequences
Previously hard-bouncedSuppressed — excluded from all future sends
Email tracking events (opens and clicks) are available in Leads > Email Events. You can filter by event type, date range, and sequence to understand which steps are performing and which subject lines need work.
