# LinkedIn Outreach and AI Auto-Reply in ClientX

> Connect LinkedIn to ClientX to send automated connection requests, AI-drafted DMs, and auto-reply to inbound messages triggered by real website intent.

ClientX integrates with LinkedIn to send connection requests and DMs to identified website visitors, and to auto-reply to inbound LinkedIn messages in your voice. When a prospect browses your site and crosses your intent threshold, ClientX can automatically queue a personalised connection request and follow it up with a DM once they accept — without you having to do anything manually.

## Two Ways to Connect LinkedIn

ClientX uses two separate LinkedIn connection methods, each serving a different purpose.

<Tabs>
  <Tab title="LinkedIn OAuth">
    **Best for:** Lead Gen Form ingestion and AI-drafted outreach message previews.

    Connect via OAuth in **Integrations > LinkedIn**. This grants ClientX permission to:

    * Receive leads from LinkedIn Lead Gen Forms via the Lead Sync API
    * Draft and preview outreach messages before you send them
    * Post content to your LinkedIn profile (optional)

    OAuth does not grant ClientX the ability to send DMs on your behalf — that requires the Chrome Extension session below.
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="Chrome Extension / LinkedIn Session">
    **Best for:** Automated DM sending, AI auto-reply, and live outreach sequences.

    Install the ClientX LinkedIn Extension, authenticate with your LinkedIn account, and generate a one-time session code. This links your active LinkedIn session to ClientX so it can send messages on your behalf.

    Follow the steps below to connect.
  </Tab>
</Tabs>

## Connect via the Chrome Extension

<Steps>
  <Step title="Go to Integrations > LinkedIn">
    In your ClientX dashboard, navigate to **Integrations**, then select **LinkedIn**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Download the ClientX LinkedIn Extension">
    Click the extension download link shown in the dashboard. You will be taken to the Chrome Web Store to install it.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Install in Chrome">
    Click **Add to Chrome** and confirm the extension permissions. The ClientX icon will appear in your Chrome toolbar.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Authenticate and generate a one-time code">
    Make sure you are logged in to LinkedIn in the same browser. Click the ClientX extension icon and click **Connect**. The extension reads your active LinkedIn session and generates a one-time pairing code.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter the code in the dashboard">
    Paste the code into the **Session Code** field in **Integrations > LinkedIn** and click **Link Session**. Your LinkedIn seat is now active and outreach sequences can begin sending.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Outreach Sequences

Once your LinkedIn seat is connected, ClientX can run full multi-step sequences automatically.

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Connection requests">
    ClientX automatically sends connection requests to identified visitors who are not yet connected with you on LinkedIn. You can customize the connection note per campaign — the AI drafts a personalised note based on the visitor's profile and intent data.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Follow-up DMs">
    After a connection is accepted, ClientX waits for your configured delay (default: 1 day) and sends the first follow-up DM. The AI drafts each message using your product knowledge base and the lead's profile, pages visited, and conversation history from your website widget.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Sequence steps and timing">
    Each sequence supports up to four steps. A typical structure looks like this:

    | Step | Timing                 | Purpose                      |
    | ---- | ---------------------- | ---------------------------- |
    | 1    | Day 0                  | Connection request with hook |
    | 2    | Day 1 after acceptance | Value-add DM                 |
    | 3    | Day 5                  | Soft ask or case study       |
    | 4    | Day 14                 | Breakup or new angle         |

    You configure the delay between steps when you create the campaign.

## AI Auto-Reply

When someone DMs you on LinkedIn while you are away, ClientX can reply in your voice automatically — powered by your knowledge base and conversation history.

<Tabs>
  <Tab title="Review mode (recommended)">
    ClientX drafts a reply and surfaces it in the **Inbox** for your review. You read it, edit if needed, and click **Send**. Nothing goes out without your approval.
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="Automatic mode">
    ClientX sends the reply immediately without waiting for your review. Enable this in **Settings > LinkedIn Auto-Reply** once you are confident in the AI's tone and accuracy for your product.
  </Tab>
</Tabs>

## LinkedIn Seat Limits

ClientX enforces the following daily limits per connected LinkedIn seat to keep your account in good standing:

<ParamField body="Daily DMs per seat" type="number" default="50">
  Maximum LinkedIn direct messages sent per seat per day. This applies to follow-up DMs after a connection is accepted. New seats start at a lower volume and ramp up automatically over the first three weeks to protect your account.
</ParamField>

<ParamField body="Daily connection requests per seat" type="number" default="20">
  Maximum outbound connection requests sent per seat per day. ClientX staggers these throughout your configured working hours and applies a warmup schedule for new seats.
</ParamField>

<Warning>
  Violating LinkedIn's terms of service can result in account restrictions or permanent bans. ClientX enforces conservative daily caps to protect your account — do not attempt to bypass them by adjusting seat schedules below the minimum safe thresholds. If your account receives a warning from LinkedIn, pause all outreach immediately and contact support.
</Warning>

## Multi-Seat Outreach

You can connect multiple LinkedIn accounts (one per team member) to scale outreach across seats. Each seat operates independently with its own daily limits, schedule, and timezone settings.

To add a seat, repeat the Chrome Extension connection flow while logged in to a different LinkedIn account, then configure that seat's schedule in **Integrations > LinkedIn > Seats**.

<Tip>
  Assign each seat a label (e.g. "Alice — AE West Coast") so you can track performance per rep in the Outreach dashboard's metrics breakdown.
